Like all medicines, OTEZLA can have side effects. Side effects you may experience from OTEZLA include:
- diarrhea
- nausea
- vomiting
- headache
- upper respiratory tract infection (e.g., common cold)
- flu (body aches and pains, tiredness, fever)
- decreased appetite
- abdominal discomfort, indigestion
- fatigue, trouble sleeping
- back pain
- joint discomfort or pain
- dizziness
If any of these affect you severely, tell your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
Serious side effects
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist if these common symptoms/effects occur:
- migraine (only if severe)
- depression (in all cases)
- weight loss (in all cases)
You should also talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any uncommon symptoms/effects, such as:
- palpitations, fast and/or irregular heartbeat (only if severe)
- infection of the lungs, resulting in shortness of breath, difficult and painful breathing, cough, wheezing, and fever (in all cases)
You should stop taking OTEZLA and seek immediate medical help if you have any of the following uncommon symptoms/effects:
- allergic reactions (rash, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing)
- gastrointestinal hemorrhage (bleeding in the digestive tract: black, tarry stool, blood coming from the rectum, blood in vomit)
- severe diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting
